I live in Bochum (Ruhrpott, Germany). A big part of my life is spending time with my 8-year-old daughter and my patchwork family – exploring and discovering new things together.
I am currently working as Director Software Development Product at nCara in Berlin, where we develop intelligent solutions to make home care better and more efficient.
I’m passionate about leadership and have been working as a manager for software development departments and teams for many years. My focus is always on people: on my teams, their development, and on building strong collaboration across departments. My leadership style is situational – finding the right balance between guidance and ownership. At the same time, I make sure that projects deliver measurable results and reach a successful conclusion.
I enjoy working with agile methods to create organizations with a high level of ownership and responsibility. Agility, to me, is not about following a rigid doctrine but about staying pragmatic, focused on delivering the most value, and fostering continuous learning.
Over the years, I have built departments and project organizations, developed strategies, and turned visions into concrete outcomes. I see IT organizations not as an end in themselves but as partners in achieving the goals of a company and its customers.
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, collecting retro gaming consoles, and exploring new technologies and the opportunities they create. I’m also a Whisky Ambassador and certified Beer Sommelier – and I write about beer on my blog @hopfenfreuden.
